The Vctorian Extravaganza takes place over the first weekend in May, May Day Bank Holiday weekend and it is held in conjunction with the Llandudno Transport Festival.

This event takes place over the first weekend in May each year, May Day Bank Holiday weekend.

The Transport Festival is the largest in Wales and one of the U.K.'s best-loved events. It is held in conjunction with the Victorian Extravaganza. Costume, vintage fairground and a host of attractions combine in a unique annual celebration of transport and entertainment heritage within the town.

The two events are linked by a free shuttle-bus service.

The town is packed with visitors and the atmosphere is electric !!!

Each day events start with a midday parade of vintage transportation, cars, lorries, buses etc which slowly wind their way through the town down to the sea-front showground in one of the most picturesque bays of the U.K. where over the 3 days various competitions take place.

Mostyn Street is transformed by Victorian fairground rides, sideshows and old-time music hall acts as well as "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang" which is always a great hit with children of all ages !!

Local people, and visitors dress in Victorian costume and join in the fun strolling around the town and "taking the air" on the promenade. Queen Victoria can also be seen with her entourage either strolling the town, enjoying a music hall act or partaking of light refreshment from a street vendor.

We normally join in the fun and are transformed into Mr Hudson and Mrs Bridges (Upstairs, Downstairs) for the weekend.
